40-Day Sādhanā

Daily Guided Gatherings Featuring
We begin our 40-Day Sādhanā on the Autumnal Equinox and conclude on the cusp of Samhain a time when the veil between the seen and unseen worlds is at its thinnest. Our practice flows through Navarātrī, the nine night celebration of the Devī's triumphant victory over the forces of limitation which prevent us from fully realizing our birthright as human beings — absolute freedom and lasting fulfillment. In true Tantric fashion we will utilize all of the forces of nature both within and without to garner maximum auspiciousness to bolster our courage, compassion & capacity.
This 40-Day practice of meditation and contemplation centers around a cherished mantra we will be learning from special guest teacher Shivā Tigunait, Phd of the Himalayan Institute.
Shivā received her doctorate in Classics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2012, and taught ancient languages, literature, and philosophy at Penn and Smith College prior to moving to the Himalayan Institute in 2015. Shiva is continually inspired by sacred sound and its profound impact on us at every level, from gross to subtle. In her teaching and writing, Shivā shares her passion for Sanskrit, linguistics, the texts of yoga and tantra, and mantra. The wisdom of the sages and the practice of meditation, she believes, can help us realize true fulfillment and freedom.
